Spain beat Serbia to reach Nations League finals
Spain have reached the Nations League finals after beating Serbia 2-0 in their final group game
Mikel Oyarzabal scored the opening goal of the match in the 29th minute, and Dani Olmo added a second in the 39th minute to give Spain a comfortable lead going into half-time.
Serbia had a chance to get back into the game early in the second half when they were awarded a penalty, but Aleksandar Mitrovic saw his spot-kick saved by David de Gea.
Spain controlled the game for large periods and never looked like relinquishing their lead, with the result meaning they finish top of Group B4 and qualify for the Nations League finals.
Conclusions
The victory means that Spain will now face either France or Italy in the Nations League finals, which will be held in June 2023.
It is the first time that Spain have reached the Nations League finals, and it will be a chance for them to add to their trophy cabinet after winning the 2010 World Cup and the 2008 and 2012 European Championships.
